Characteristics and Temperament
Activity and Temperament
The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is a highly active dog, wary of strangers, suitable for shows as well as working tasks. Training is more demanding than with a German Shepherd and orthodox trainers rarely choose this breed.
Purposeful Behaviour
The breed exhibits purposeful behaviour, meaning that mechanical drill repetition proves ineffective. They excel through great endurance, weather resistance and the ability to act independently.
Loyalty and Pack Instinct
Loyalty to the owner and pack is almost proverbial. The CSV builds strong pack instincts and develops deep partnerships that last a lifetime.
This is not a dog for everyone. It requires an experienced and patient owner who understands the wolf-like nature and respects the inherent qualities of this unique breed.
